Heavy Equipment Operators – Excavator & Skid Steer

About the role

Wilco Contractors Northwest is seeking experienced Excavator and Skid Steer Operators to join its civil construction teams in Edmonton. You will operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently on a variety of infrastructure, park, and road projects.

Key responsibilities

• Operate excavators and/or skid steers in a civil construction environment.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and complete pre‑trip and post‑trip documentation.
• Conduct routine maintenance and report mechanical concerns.
• Read grades, stakes, plans, and site instructions to achieve required earthwork specifications.
• Collaborate with foremen, gradepersons, labourers, and project teams to maintain production and quality.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience operating excavators and/or skid steers on civil construction sites.
• Strong understanding of grading, earthworks, and site development activities.
• Ability to work safely around crews, utilities, and underground infrastructure.
• Reliable, dependable, self‑motivated with a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
• Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and perform physical duties.
