Heavy Equipment Grader Operator – Fort Hills Mining Site

About the role

NACG is looking for an experienced grader operator to join its remote mining team at the Fort Hills site near Fort McMurray. You will operate articulating motor graders to maintain roadways, loading and dump areas, and ensure safe, efficient earth‑works in a mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate motor graders (16‑24 ft blade) from brands such as Caterpillar and John Deere.
• Read grade stakes and use GPS equipment to achieve required grades.
• Perform pre‑use equipment inspections and complete field‑level risk assessments.
• Safe fueling, servicing, and reporting of any repairs or incidents.
• Interact with light vehicles, haul trucks, and other contractor equipment while following mine driving rules.
• Review and follow safe work plans and company safety policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience operating graders, preferably 16 ft or larger.
• Experience on M‑series graders and haul‑road maintenance is an asset.
• At least 1 year experience in mining or heavy‑construction earthworks.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract (issued within the last 30 days).
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written.

Required skills

• Knowledge of mine driving rules and safety procedures.
