Health & Safety Onsite Advisor (Parry Sound)

About the role

Black & McDonald Limited is looking for a Health & Safety Onsite Advisor to evaluate and monitor hazards across industrial, commercial and institutional sites. The role requires independent inspections of construction and other workplaces to ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements and government legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct safety and environmental audits and inspect worksites for hazards.
• Prepare incident and inspection reports, ensure corrective actions are taken, and follow‑up on unresolved issues.
• Provide coaching, develop safe work practices, and deliver health‑and‑safety training to employees.
• Assist site supervisors and contractors with proper practices and procedures.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of HSE experience on construction sites.
• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• Working knowledge of provincial and federal HSE regulations, ESA Code, TSSA Standards and CSA standards.
• Training in fall protection, first‑aid/CPR, confined space, electrical and asbestos awareness is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HSE databases.
• Familiarity with ESA Code, TSSA Standards, CSA standards.
• Ability to read technical drawings and recognize hazards.
• Certifications such as NCSO, CUSP, CRSP are advantageous.

• Salary range $70,000‑$95,000 CAD per year, based on qualifications.
