Head of Technical Training

About the role

Anthropic is building a world‑class technical instruction function to help engineers and architects get the most out of its AI system, Claude. As the first full‑time Head of Technical Training, you will spend the initial year teaching directly while designing the people, processes, and standards that will allow the program to scale.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver hands‑on technical instruction across onboarding, residency, and field‑readiness programs, ranging from small labs to large‑scale sessions.
• Hire, onboard, manage, and develop a bench of technical instructors, defining performance expectations and renewal criteria.
• Define and maintain the quality bar for instruction, creating rubrics, dry‑run protocols, and a cleared‑to‑teach process.
• Design and run train‑the‑trainer programs for internal experts, contract instructors, and partner facilitators, certifying those who meet Anthropic’s standards.
• Act as a player‑coach: lead sessions yourself, coach other instructors, and make final decisions on who is cleared to teach.

Required profile

• Engineer with a proven track record of teaching technical concepts.
• Experience leading and coaching other teachers or instructors.
• Ability to build and demo AI agents live, diagnose technical lab issues, and improve instructional material.
• Strong communication skills to set expectations, give feedback, and certify instructors.
