Guidewire Developer - Rating / Pricing

About the role

As part of Aviva's Software Engineering Group, you will join globally distributed teams to plan, design, develop, test and implement solutions. As a Guidewire Rating Developer, you will contribute to the design, development and maintenance of rating logic and rating-related components within Guidewire PolicyCenter, working with senior developers, architects and actuarial partners on modernization and cloud transformation initiatives. The role reports to the Senior Manager - Software Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain rating worksheets, rating engines, modifiers and rating artifacts in Guidewire PolicyCenter.
• Configure, write, package and deploy GOSU code, rating logic, product model changes and rating tables.
• Work with business and actuarial teams to implement accurate, maintainable rating solutions.
• Maintain integrations for rating inputs and outputs, including Earnix, lookup services and external rating data sources.
• Take part in peer code reviews, support QA test cases and defect resolution, and troubleshoot rating logic and product model issues.
• Help validate rating behaviour during Guidewire Cloud upgrades and monitor system and rating performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of proven Guidewire development experience, ideally with hands-on PolicyCenter rating experience.
• 5+ years of coding in multiple languages such as C#, Java and Python.
• Domain knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance.
• Must hold the Guidewire Associate certification and have Guidewire Rating and PolicyCenter experience.
• Experience with Guidewire Cloud and Earnix rating/pricing models or integrating Earnix with Guidewire (critical to the role).

Required skills

• GOSU language and Guidewire tools, accelerators, Batch and predefined plugins.
• Agile development with Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira and Confluence.
• RESTful APIs, REST/JSON and Web API design; SQL and relational databases are a plus.
• Nice to have: Guidewire Ace certification, GUnit testing, Cloud assurance, and Claim/Billing Center configuration knowledge.
