Group Portfolio Lead - Personal Insurance

About the role

The Group Portfolio Lead supports the management of group business within Personal Insurance, focusing on the intake and evaluation of new groups. The role is central to delivering the Group strategy and contributes to Aviva's goal of growth at scale and top-quartile profitability. It is advertised as an existing vacancy open to internal and external candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the intake process and coordinate with internal teams for new groups.
• Understand and report results so that Personal Insurance partners stay informed on the status of new applications.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including distribution partners, actuarial pricing, legal and underwriting.
• Propose and carry out projects to improve Aviva Group processes, policies, risk and controls, tactics and execution.
• Represent the group segment perspective at relevant tables, committees and projects, supporting decisions that reflect the One Aviva mindset.
• Communicate and coordinate system changes needed for groups with technology teams.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or college diploma.
• 5+ years of property and casualty underwriting experience.
• In pursuit of industry certification(s).
• Excellent communicator and natural collaborator.

Required skills

• Business analytics: using data to drive business decisions.
• Knowledge of the full insurance value chain, including underwriting and ratemaking.
• Digital and traditional marketing knowledge.
• Experience with MS Office Suite.
• Nice to have: ability to extract and play with data, and project management experience.
