Group Insurance Underwriter

About the role

iA Financial Group is looking for an Underwriter to evaluate group insurance risks, support sales activities and contribute to the profitability and long-term success of the business. The position is based in Toronto, with other possible locations in Quebec and Montreal.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of group insurance quotations, renewal pricing and requests for modifications.
• Ensure financial agreements align with business objectives and that proposal wording accurately reflects administration and service capabilities.
• Take part in renewal presentations with existing and prospective clients and their advisors.
• Coach and mentor junior and intermediate underwriters.
• Work with the Group Underwriting Manager so that underwriting tools and approaches support profitable growth and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance or an equivalent field.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Group Insurance underwriting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, leadership and organizational skills.
• Solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced French is an asset, as the role may require preparing and reviewing quotations, presenting renewals and communicating with French-speaking clients and partners.
