Ground Handler – Full‑time/Part‑time

About the role

As a Ground Handler you will ensure safe and timely processing of cargo and aircraft loading/offloading for Cargojet, Canada’s leading air cargo carrier. The role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions to support night‑time freight operations.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload aircraft and trucks using ground support equipment.
• Lift and move packages up to 60 lb repeatedly.
• Sort cargo by customer, destination and other parameters.
• Communicate piece counts and package information to lead hands and supervisors.
• Follow all safety, security and dangerous‑goods protocols.
• Perform general housekeeping and support tasks as needed.
• Meet time‑sensitive deadlines for freight build‑up and breakdown.
• Complete required training modules (WHMIS, SMS, Dangerous Goods, Hazard Prevention, etc.).

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (or equivalent).
• Ability to obtain a RAIC security pass.
• Physical ability to lift 60 lb repeatedly and work outdoors in all weather.
• Strong punctuality, attendance and teamwork orientation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and statutory holidays.
• Willingness to undergo a background check.

Required skills
