Ground Handler – Cargo Operations

About the role

Join Cargojet, Canada’s leading air cargo airline, as a Ground Handler. You will be responsible for the safe and timely loading and unloading of cargo on aircraft and trucks, working in a fast‑paced, safety‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload aircraft and trucks using ground support equipment.
• Lift and move packages up to 60 lb repeatedly.
• Sort packages by customer, destination airport, and other parameters.
• Communicate piece counts and package information to lead hands and supervisors.
• Handle customer freight with care and follow all safety and security protocols.
• Perform housekeeping duties and assist with dangerous‑goods handling and acceptance.
• Meet time‑sensitive deadlines for freight build‑up and break‑down as part of a team.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions and around aircraft daily.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and ability to obtain a RAIC security pass.
• Ability to lift 60 lb repeatedly and work in a “team first” environment.
• Excellent punctuality, attendance and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and statutory holidays.
• Willingness to undergo a background check and work outdoors.
