Ground Handler – Airport Operations

About the role

Executive Aviation is seeking motivated individuals to join its ground handling team at Nanaimo Airport. As a Ground Handler you will support daily ramp operations for multiple airline partners, ensuring safe and efficient turnaround of aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Follow airline and Transport Canada procedures for all ground activities.
• Drive and operate ground service equipment such as tugs, belt loaders and baggage carts.
• Marshall and wing‑walk aircraft to guide them safely to and from the gate.
• Sort, load and unload passenger baggage according to load plans and deliver it to the claim area.
• Service aircraft water and lavatory systems.
• Inspect ramp areas for debris and remove it promptly.
• Clean and restock aircraft cabins, galleys and lavatories.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Ramp Lead.

Required profile

• Flexible availability for shift work, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, bend and push for extended periods and lift up to 70 lb (32 kg) regularly.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to wear required safety gear (steel‑toe boots, reflective vest, hearing protection).
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract and ability to obtain a Transport Canada Restricted Area pass.
• Successful criminal background check.
