Graphics Engineer – 3D Rendering

About the role

Join Huawei Canada's Graphics Technology Lab to lead and mentor a team of developers working on cutting‑edge 3D rendering systems. You will drive research and development of rendering technologies, provide technical guidance, and help shape the future of media experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Independently lead the development of rendering systems and related R&D areas.
• Mentor junior team members, offering professional guidance and expertise.
• Stay abreast of trends in rendering technologies, shaders, and current research.
• Develop, debug, and optimise key features of the rendering engine to ensure competitiveness.
• Collaborate closely with internal R&D divisions.

Required profile

• Solid programming skills in C/C++ (minimum 2 years).
• 1‑2+ years of hands‑on experience in computer graphics, focusing on real‑time rendering.
• Experience with graphics APIs such as Vulkan, OpenGL, or DirectX.
• Familiarity with game engines like Unreal Engine (UE) or Unity.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Contribution to 1‑2 AAA games or leadership of an advanced runtime graphics team.

What we offer

• Annual compensation ranging from $78,000 to $168,000 (based on 2,080 hours per year), dependent on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.
