Grant Writer – Remote (Canada)

About the role

Climate Finance Solutions (CFS) is seeking an experienced Grant Writer to join its fully‑remote team. You will partner with climate innovators to craft competitive federal and provincial grant applications, advise on project design and commercialization, and help shape partnership strategies that increase funding success.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior staff, the Director of Grants and other writers to develop high‑quality proposals from concept through submission.
• Manage multiple proposal projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
• Draft technical narratives, work plans, budget justifications, letters of commitment and other required documents for public funding programs.
• Conduct external research using peer‑reviewed sources and gather internal data to enrich proposals.
• Act as a strategic advisor to client teams, refining scope, commercialization plans and fundraising strategies before writing.
• Liaise with external partners and stakeholders to build consortia and support proposal development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and fluency in English.
• Minimum six years of grant‑writing experience, with at least three years as lead writer on funded proposals.
• Strong scientific or technical knowledge relevant to climate solutions.
• Proven track record securing grants from Canadian climate‑focused agencies such as NRCan, SDTC, IRAP, SRF, ECCC, Alberta Innovates, Investissement Québec and CleanBC.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced remote environment.
