Geostructural Engineer (Underground Structures)

About the role

Entuitive is seeking a Geostructural Engineer to join its Toronto office, supporting underground infrastructure such as stations, deep basements and shoring. The role reports to the Team Lead or Project Principal and involves both design and site supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Lead small‑to‑medium soil‑structure interaction design projects for underground structures with minimal senior supervision.
• Provide site supervision for infrastructure and building projects, focusing on shoring, underground stations and related works.
• Interpret field and laboratory test results, prepare Geotechnical Baseline Reports (GBR) and Interpretive Reports (GIR).
• Perform design and analysis using industry‑standard software for excavations, foundations, seismic response, slopes and tunnels.
• Utilise finite‑element tools such as RocScience, PLAXIS and FLAC for geotechnical and tunnelling modelling.
• Conduct seismic design of underground structures in accordance with Canadian and U.S. codes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers on building, bridge and tunnel foundations.
• Prepare design reports, calculations, drawings and specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master’s in Tunnelling, Mining or Geotechnical Engineering is highly desirable.
• Minimum five years of experience in shoring or geo‑structural design with a proven record of delivering project deliverables.
• Professional engineering registration in Canada (PE, CEng) is an advantage.
• Experience supervising site works and implementing design changes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual English/French is a plus.
