General OBGYN Clinician Educator (AMHSP)

About the role

This AMHSP General OBGYN position offers a unique blend of clinical practice and academic development within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, Royal Alexandra Hospital. The role provides competitively funded protected time for education and research, supporting both undergraduate and postgraduate medical training.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and schedule curriculum, assessments (including OSCEs), and orientation activities for medical students and residents.
• Deliver lectures, small‑group sessions, and coordinate education across multiple teaching sites (RAH, GNH, MCH, SCH, Grande Prairie).
• Support the longitudinal residency teaching clinic and the gynecology rapid‑access clinic at RAH.
• Contribute to the northern medical school expansion in Grande Prairie.
• Participate actively in medical education initiatives and research projects.

Required profile

• Current appointment in the division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology within the Urban Edmonton corridor.
• Certification or eligibility for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons as an Obstetrician‑Gynecologist.
• Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
• Willingness to allocate up to 0.5 FTE to education or research and the remainder to clinical duties, including on‑call responsibilities.
