General Manager - Marketing and Ecommerce Growth

About the role

HoopStars, a Toronto‑based youth basketball business, is seeking a hands‑on General Manager to drive marketing, ecommerce and profitable growth. The role is remote within LATAM, working Toronto hours, with potential future relocation to the US or Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Own HoopStars’ business plan, budget, revenue, profitability and cash forecasts.
• Lead sales and operations to ensure programmes, coaches, venues and service quality meet demand.
• Drive digital growth by improving paid search, social, creative, landing pages, enrollment funnels, pricing, offers, referrals and retention.
• Build and manage the parent company’s marketing team across brands, defining structure, recruiting specialists and overseeing contractors or agencies.
• Establish commercial discipline by linking campaign performance to paying customers, repeat enrollment and contribution profit, and allocate marketing investment based on reliable reporting and testing.

Required profile

• Proven experience building ecommerce businesses or leading growth for consumer brands, with responsibility for budgets, pricing, margins and forecasts.
• Demonstrated results in paid acquisition, conversion and retention.
• Experience hiring and managing marketers, creatives, agencies or other specialists.
• Strong professional English and effective remote leadership skills.
• Ability to translate ecommerce methods into a service‑based business with real delivery capacity.
