General Manager - Marketing and Ecommerce Growth

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on General Manager to lead marketing, ecommerce and profitable growth for HoopStars, a youth basketball business, while also building the parent company’s marketing team across multiple brands. The role is remote within LATAM, working on Toronto hours, with potential future relocation to the US or Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Own HoopStars’ business plan, budget, revenue, profitability and cash forecasts; lead sales and operations to match demand.
• Drive digital growth by improving paid search, social, creative assets, landing pages, enrollment funnels, pricing, offers, referrals and retention.
• Define, recruit and manage the parent company’s marketing team, including specialists, contractors or agencies.
• Establish commercial discipline by linking campaign performance to paying customers, repeat enrollment and contribution profit, and allocate marketing investment based on reporting and testing.
• Inspect advertising accounts, diagnose funnel issues and launch improvements while building a self‑sufficient execution team.

Required profile

• Proven experience building ecommerce businesses or leading growth for consumer brands, with responsibility for paid acquisition, conversion and retention.
• Commercial accountability beyond marketing budgets, including pricing, margins, staffing, forecasts and overall profitability.
• Experience hiring and managing marketers, creatives, agencies or other specialists.
• Strong professional English and effective remote leadership skills.
• Ability to translate ecommerce methods into a service‑based business with real delivery capacity.
