General Manager - Marketing and Ecommerce Growth

About the role

HoopStars, a Toronto‑based youth basketball business, is seeking a hands‑on General Manager to drive marketing, ecommerce and profitable growth. The role is remote within LATAM, working on Toronto hours, and includes responsibility for both HoopStars and the parent company’s marketing team.

Key responsibilities

• Own HoopStars’ business plan, budget, revenue, profitability and cash forecasts while leading sales and operations.
• Drive digital growth through paid search, social, creative assets, landing pages, enrollment funnels, pricing, offers, referrals and retention.
• Build and lead the parent company’s marketing team: define structure, recruit specialists, manage contractors or agencies, and oversee performance across brands.
• Establish commercial discipline by linking campaign performance to paying customers, repeat enrollment and contribution profit, and allocate marketing investment using reliable reporting and testing.
• Stay close to execution: inspect advertising accounts, diagnose funnel problems and launch improvements while developing a capable execution team.

Required profile

• Proven experience building an ecommerce business, leading growth for a consumer brand, or managing a digitally‑focused operation.
• Demonstrated results in paid acquisition, conversion and retention, with commercial responsibility beyond a marketing budget.
• Experience hiring and managing marketers, creatives, agencies or other specialists.
• Ability to translate ecommerce methods into a service‑based business with real delivery capacity.
• Strong professional English and effective remote leadership skills.
