General Manager - Marketing and Ecommerce Growth

About the role

HoopStars, a Toronto‑based youth basketball business, is seeking a hands‑on General Manager to drive marketing, ecommerce and profitable growth while also building the parent company’s marketing team. The role is remote within LATAM, working on Toronto business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Own HoopStars’ business plan, budget, revenue, profitability and cash forecasts; lead sales and operations to match demand.
• Drive digital growth by improving paid search, social, creative, landing pages, enrollment funnels, pricing, offers, referrals and retention.
• Define, recruit and manage the parent company’s marketing team across brands, including specialists, contractors or agencies.
• Establish commercial discipline by linking campaign performance to paying customers, repeat enrollment and contribution profit, and allocate marketing investment using reliable reporting and testing.
• Inspect advertising accounts, diagnose funnel problems and launch improvements while building a scalable execution team.

Required profile

• Proven experience building ecommerce businesses or leading growth for consumer brands, with responsibility for budgets, pricing, margins and profitability.
• Demonstrated success in paid acquisition, conversion and retention, and experience hiring and managing marketers, creatives or agencies.
• Strong professional English and ability to lead remote teams effectively.
• Experience translating ecommerce methods to service‑based businesses and comfort doing practical work while developing people and systems.
