General Accounting Associate – Car Desk

About the role

We are seeking a General Accounting Associate for our Car Desk at OpenRoad’s Richmond head office. The role supports vehicle sales accounting, month‑end closing and ensures compliance with dealership and manufacturer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Post daily vehicle sales to the general ledger and review deal paperwork for compliance.
• Prepare month‑end Car Desk packages and reconcile asset, liability and capital accounts.
• Analyze financial discrepancies, assist with audit preparation and perform month‑end/year‑end closing activities.
• Process daily vehicle flooring payouts and track payments between the dealership and manufacturers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience creating financial statements.
• Detail‑oriented, highly organized with strong interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Familiarity with CDK accounting software (a plus).
• CPA designation preferred.
