Full‑time ESL Instructor for Adult Learners

About the role

Connect International School is seeking a full‑time ESL Instructor to teach adult international learners in downtown Toronto. The successful candidate will deliver student‑centred English language instruction, helping students improve speaking, listening, reading, writing and exam performance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging ESL lessons for adult learners.
• Teach integrated language skills including speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that motivates students.
• Apply project‑based learning principles to make language learning meaningful.
• Integrate educational technology to enhance participation and interaction.
• Connect classroom activities to real‑world communication situations.
• Assess student progress through portfolios, performance and formative assessments.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to support growth.
• Monitor attendance and maintain accurate records and evaluations.
• Prepare lesson materials using the school’s curriculum and resources.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development and school events.
• Collaborate with the Academic Team to continuously improve programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics or a related field.
• TESL/TESOL certification (OCELT, TESL Canada or equivalent).
• Demonstrated passion for teaching adult English language learners.
• Strong classroom management, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
