Full-Time Registered Nurse – Cardiology

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our 2C Cardiology unit at Mississauga Hospital. The unit provides acute, inpatient care for complex cardiac patients and collaborates closely with the Cardiac Cath Lab, Short Stay and Coronary Care units.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 12-hour shift coverage (days, nights, weekends, holidays) to a 50-bed cardiac unit.
• Provide medical management and support minimally invasive cardiac procedures.
• Coordinate post-surgical care for vascular surgery patients.
• Administer IV therapy, medications, blood products, and monitor blood glucose.
• Manage nasogastric tubes, wound care, and infection-control protocols.
• Interpret normal and abnormal laboratory values and perform physical assessments.
• Educate patients and families and document care using the EPIC system.

Required profile

• Graduate of a recognized nursing program; Baccalaureate degree preferred.
• Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (or eligible for temporary/general class).
• Current BCLS certification and completion (or commitment) of the Coronary Care 1 course.
• Minimum one year of acute-care, cardiac or surgical nursing experience; telemetry experience preferred.
• Physical assessment course completed.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development and a positive attendance record.
