Full-Time Probationary Math & Science Teacher (Junior/Senior)

About the role

The Grande Yellowhead Public School Division is seeking a full‑time probationary teacher to deliver junior and senior level Math and Science instruction at Harry Collinge High School. This dual‑track position (English and French Immersion) runs from September 1, 2026 to June 29, 2027 and supports approximately 500 students in grades 8‑12.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver student‑centered lessons that align with provincial curriculum standards.
• Utilise a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, demonstrations, and discussions.
• Incorporate educational technology to enhance learning experiences.
• Facilitate inclusive practices to ensure equitable access for all learners.
• Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and meet reporting deadlines.
• Maintain compliance with provincial legislation, board policies, and division procedures.
• Build constructive relationships with parents and guardians.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to school improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Alberta Teaching Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Bachelor’s degree in Education.
• Experience applying the Teaching Quality Standard and integrating literacy across the curriculum.
• Commitment to collaborative, student‑focused teaching.
