About the role
Bittersweet Symphony is seeking an experienced baker to join its Niagara Falls bake shop on a permanent, full‑time basis. The role involves preparing a variety of doughs, pastries, and specialty cakes while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare doughs for pies, breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, and cakes according to recipes or special orders.
- Frost, decorate, and finish wedding and specialty cakes.
- Order and requisition materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Operate bakery machinery and maintain equipment.
- Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure compliance with standards.
- Organise inventory, oversee sales, and manage merchandising of baked goods.
Required profile
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Dependable, reliable, and accurate in task execution.
- Team player comfortable supervising 1‑2 staff members.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods in a fast‑paced environment.
Required skills
- Cake decorating.
- Operating bakery equipment.
- Baking and pastry preparation.
