Full Stack Developer (Remote) – Alberta Digital Services

About the role

Join a team delivering the next generation of government digital services for Alberta. You will work remotely in an agile environment, contributing to technical discovery, solution design, development, and continuous improvement across multiple transformation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in project research, field studies, and user interviews to inform technical solutions.
• Lead technical discovery, producing diagrams, documentation, and architectural artifacts.
• Design, develop, and deliver full‑stack features that enhance digital experiences.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve functional and non‑functional defects.
• Improve code quality, tooling, and documentation for maintainability.
• Collaborate with front‑end designers to ensure a consistent user experience.
• Advise product owners on implementation approaches and delivery options.
• Support solution deployment, product launches, and onboarding of new technical team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of full‑stack development experience in complex, Agile projects.
• Proven experience with Git and collaborative source‑control workflows.
• Ability to obtain required security clearances, including criminal record check.

What we offer

• Hourly rate: $80‑90 (salaried) or $95‑105 (incorporated business).
• 12‑month contract with possible extension up to 24 months.
• Remote work flexibility with a 36.25‑hour weekly schedule (8:15 am‑4:30 pm).
