Front End Clerk (All Purpose) – Part‑time

About the role

This part‑time front‑end clerk position supports customers at Safeway’s Caulfield Village store in West Vancouver. The role is ideal for candidates with no prior experience who are eager to learn on the job and provide fast, courteous service.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and scan items selected by customers.
• Ensure prices are accurate and cancel transactions as needed.
• Handle cash, debit cards, cheques and make deposits according to policy.
• Balance the cash register and meet productivity standards.
• Provide courteous, attentive customer service and bag items.
• Maintain clean work areas, uniform and follow food safety standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma (preferred).
• Customer‑service orientation and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work various shifts and stand for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting up to 20 kg.
• Willingness to learn cash register system on the job.
