Freight Supervisor

About the role

The Freight Supervisor reports to the Department Manager and will help expand trade lanes between Korea and Canada. The role combines operational support with sales growth responsibilities, ensuring client satisfaction and smooth freight operations.

Key responsibilities

• Grow LCL consolidation services between Korea and Canada.
• Distribute work to team members and coordinate meetings for updates.
• Identify and resolve freight‑related problems and complaints, implementing corrective measures.
• Train employees on freight import processes and adapt to organizational changes.
• Maintain compliance with CIFFA safety standards and regulations.
• Perform associate‑level tasks such as invoicing, issuing manifests, tracking shipments, and posting payables.
• Manage office supplies, equipment maintenance, and IT resources.
• Act as relations manager to drive sales growth with existing Korean customers and develop new client relationships within the Korean community.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a freight forwarding environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Economics.
• Familiarity with Korean logistics practices and corporate culture.
• Fluency in Korean and a CIFFA designation are assets.

Required skills

• Experience with CargoWise One or similar transportation management systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (slicers, VLOOKUP, formulas, automation).
