FRACAS Engineer

About the role

LGM North America is seeking a FRACAS Engineer to lead the Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System on major rail projects. Reporting to the RAMS Group Manager, you will ensure the reliability and availability of railway systems through systematic data collection and analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and administer the FRACAS process for railway systems and subsystems.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret reliability data from operation and maintenance feedback.
• Identify failure trends, perform root‑cause analyses, and propose corrective actions in collaboration with technical teams.
• Track the effectiveness of corrective actions and support continuous improvement of system reliability.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical and project‑related issues.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, reliability performance indicators, and present findings to clients and project teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the railway sector with solid understanding of rail systems.
• Proven experience implementing and managing complex processes.
• Strong background in reliability engineering.
• Knowledge of maintenance management systems (CMMS) and FRACAS tools.
• Analytical mindset, rigor, and ability to summarize complex information.
• Leadership, team facilitation, and ability to challenge technical assumptions.
• Fluency in both French and English.
