Forklift Service Technician

About the role

Alta Material Handling is seeking a full‑time Forklift Service Technician for its Quebec City branch. You will join a team that supports customers across North America by maintaining and repairing a wide range of material handling equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on forklifts, diesel, automotive, agricultural and heavy‑equipment units.
• Complete repair jobs efficiently while delivering professional, courteous service.
• Manage workloads independently and ensure accurate completion of all required paperwork.
• Maintain consistent attendance and be ready to start work at the scheduled time.
• Participate in in‑house paid training to expand diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of hands‑on mechanical repair experience with forklifts, diesel, auto, agricultural or heavy equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical manuals, safety rules, and maintenance instructions.
• Own set of tools and a clean driving record with a valid driver’s licence to operate a company vehicle.
• Intermediate language skills for reading, writing reports and communicating with customers.
