Forensic Program Support Worker (Temporary)

About the role

The Forensic Program Support Worker assists in implementing community reintegration plans for high‑risk youth and adults, collaborating with multiple forensic and justice partners. This role supports risk management, skill‑building, and the development of formal and informal support networks.

Key responsibilities

• Support risk management and rehabilitative plans in coordination with the Forensic Mental Health Program, Selkirk Mental Health Center, Youth Forensic Psychiatry Program, Criminal Code Review Board, and Manitoba Justice Prosecutions.
• Facilitate community reintegration and skill‑building activities for clients.
• Create and maintain formal and informal support networks.
• Provide accurate information and consultation to families regarding skill development and support services.
• Build and sustain relationships with high‑risk youth and adults.
• Apply knowledge of Indigenous culture, history, and community resources to support interventions.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience working with individuals experiencing mental health issues.
• University or college education in human services or related field, or a high‑school diploma with relevant training.
• Understanding of risk factors related to self‑harm or harm to others, crisis intervention, service coordination, and community consultation.
• Ability to resolve sensitive and complex issues involving multiple services.

• Competitive hourly wage ranging from $24.21 to $28.41 CAD.
• Temporary full‑time position (8 hours per day, 2080 hours per year) with a start date ASAP and end date 07/14/2027.
