Fire Alarm Technician – Full-Time in Kamloops

About the role

Everguard Fire Equipment Inc. is seeking a permanent full‑time Fire Alarm Technician for its Kamloops operation. The technician will perform installation, inspection, maintenance, modification, programming and servicing of fire alarm and fire protection systems across various client sites.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, schematics and product manuals.
• Install panels, run wiring and cabling, install devices, conduit and emergency lighting.
• Evaluate plans, customer requests and code requirements to provide solutions and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot fire alarm, fire suppression and sprinkler system issues and conduct investigations.
• Prepare material stock, support take‑offs, and draft proposals or quotations.
• Complete daily work‑order reports and ensure safe work practices.
• Mentor apprentices and field service labour and participate in 24/7 on‑call emergency service.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years field experience servicing fire alarm systems.
• College or trade level education in Electronics or Fire Protection Technology (preferred).
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to remote client sites.
• Strong attention to detail, self‑motivation and customer‑service mindset.
• Knowledge of relevant fire codes and standards.

• Experience with Siemens fire alarm systems.
• Experience with Autocall fire alarm systems.
• Experience with Simplex fire alarm systems.
• Experience with Edwards fire alarm systems.
• Experience with Notifier fire alarm systems.
