Financial Reporting & Tax Compliance Manager

About the role

PwC is hiring a manager for its Core Reporting group within the Tax line of service in Waterloo. The team advises clients on tax planning, compliance and strategy, and assists businesses in preparing and reviewing tax provisions, tax returns and financial statements. The position follows the departure of a valued team member and ensures continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a variety of projects, including compilations, review engagements and tax compliance engagements
• Work with the team to give clients insights on tax planning, compliance, accounting and general business advice
• Review personal and corporate tax returns, information returns and related correspondence
• Ensure work is completed and documented according to prescribed standards and billed on time
• Identify opportunities to offer additional services and strengthen client relationships
• Coach and mentor junior team members, share best practices and teach courses
• Communicate with partners on engagement progress and manage engagement economics
• Take part in the day-to-day management of the practice

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a professional accounting firm
• Detailed knowledge of Canadian corporate and personal income taxes
• Canadian CPA designation or equivalent
• Experience managing a significant portfolio of clients of varying size and scope
• Ability to coach and mentor managers, senior associates and associates

Required skills

• Understanding of ASPE accounting standards
• Experience with Microsoft Office and CCH Ifirm
• Strong analytical capability, organization and project management skills

The salary range is $70,500 - $117,500, based on skills, experience, qualifications and location; eligible employees may also join variable incentive pay programs.
