Financial Controller

About the role

This role offers a unique chance to impact the health of Canadians by ensuring strong financial stewardship for a leading organization in innovative medicines. Reporting to the Vice‑President, Finance, you will lead day‑to‑day accounting operations, provide insightful financial reporting, and support strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting activities, month‑end close, general ledger, cash flow, A/R, A/P, corporate credit cards and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyse monthly financial and cost‑centre reports, translating data into clear insights for internal stakeholders.
• Handle tax filings and regulatory compliance (GST/HST, QST, EHT) and maintain robust internal controls.
• Lead the annual external audit process and support preparation of financial statements and tax returns.
• Oversee cash flow, investment, credit‑card programs and banking relationships.
• Act as a finance partner across the organization, responding to inquiries with pragmatic solutions.
• Collaborate with the Corporate Service Business Partner and ACE team to connect insights and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Experience in full‑cycle accounting and month‑end close processes.
• Proven ability to prepare financial reports and support audit activities.
• Familiarity with Canadian tax regulations (GST/HST, QST, EHT).
