Financial Analyst

About the role

The Health Employers Association of British Columbia (HEABC) is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its Finance team in Vancouver. You will provide financial and business advisory services, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the annual budgeting cycle, aligning strategic priorities with accurate budgets for approval.
• Prepare budget updates, adjustments, and reconcile Board‑approved and internal budgets.
• Advise senior leaders on forecasts, staffing plans, cost pressures, surpluses, and resource trade‑offs.
• Support position‑control governance in collaboration with Human Resources.
• Conduct integrated financial analyses covering operational performance, workforce trends, funding changes, economic conditions, and policy developments.
• Deliver variance and trend analysis, including salary and financial variances.
• Lead financial forecasting and reporting for internal Board, Finance & Audit Committee, and the Ministry.
• Build financial capability across the organization through training and orientation on budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
• Support external financial accountability by preparing required reports.
