Financial Accountant (Multi-Entity & Real Estate)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Financial Accountant to join a well‑established Toronto family office. The role offers exposure to multi‑entity accounting, real‑estate operations, and financial reporting within a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full‑cycle bookkeeping for a group of private holding companies, including bank reconciliations and month‑end close.
• Maintain organized financial records and ensure expenses are documented for tax purposes.
• Track Canadian tax slips, prepare reconciliations and provide supporting documentation to tax and compliance teams.
• Support property‑management administration: rent collection, owner distributions, recording fees, and liaising with third‑party managers.
• Prepare and update monthly cash‑flow and real‑estate reports across multiple entities.
• Maintain portfolio and operating‑company tracking schedules in Excel.
• Manage document handling, including scanning CRA correspondence and organizing accounting files.
• Prepare cheque deposits and assist with banking documentation for senior review.
• Provide general administrative and accounting support to the finance team.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (recent graduates with co‑op/internship experience considered).
• Strong knowledge of full‑cycle bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and Canadian tax slips.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization and time‑management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism.
• Comfortable working independently and interacting with senior leadership.
• Experience with Sage 50 and/or Buildium is preferred.
• Exposure to real‑estate or property‑management accounting and multi‑entity environments.
