Finance & Accounting Associate

About the role

VendorPM is looking for a Finance & Accounting Associate to join its fast‑growing finance team in downtown Toronto. This entry‑level, hybrid position supports daily accounting operations and helps build a solid financial foundation for a high‑growth PropTech startup.

Key responsibilities

• Process invoices, bills, journal entries, and payments using Xero, Float and Stripe.
• Prepare month‑end accrual schedules and related journal entries.
• Create and update financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including budget‑to‑actual tracking.
• Assist with payroll cycles, commission calculations, benefits, and expense reimbursements.
• Identify and implement improvements to finance and accounting processes.
• Collaborate with sales, customer success, and HR on financial initiatives.
• Support ad‑hoc analysis and special projects as the company scales.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast‑moving environment.
