Field Service Operations Manager

About the role

Sandvik Mining is looking for a Field Service Operations Manager to lead a team of Field Service Technicians in Sudbury, ON. You will ensure operational excellence, safety compliance, and strong customer partnerships while supporting the company’s growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily field service activities, including equipment commissioning, scheduled and unscheduled service calls, and warranty case handling.
• Coordinate customer training and technical support to ensure safe and effective equipment operation.
• Execute service contracts with strict adherence to scope, deliverables, and commercial terms.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, labour entries, parts usage, and service notes in the CMMS.
• Drive timely invoicing by validating documentation and charge capture according to finance procedures.
• Build, mentor, and retain a high‑performing team of OEM‑expert technicians.
• Develop competency in bulletin management, warranty handling, and technical troubleshooting, embedding standard work and first‑time‑fix practices.
• Maintain regular communication with customers and internal stakeholders, organize KPI reviews, and develop action plans to maximise equipment efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in field service or operations, preferably within the mining sector.
• Strong track record of building and developing technical teams.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage customer relationships.
• Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
