Field Service Millwright – Western Canada

About the role

Sandvik Mining is looking for a licensed Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic/Industrial Mechanic to join its Field Service team in Western Canada. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining battery‑electric mining equipment and related components, ensuring reliable operation at customer sites.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and servicing of mining equipment, following all work procedures.
• Plan and gather the correct tools and parts required for each task.
• Commission new equipment, including pre‑delivery inspections and on‑site hot commissioning.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve recurring issues.
• Provide preventive and cost‑efficient repairs, and document all work performed.
• Support customers by suggesting improvements and collecting technical feedback.

Required profile

• Valid Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or Industrial Mechanic certification.
• Experience with battery‑electric mining equipment and mechanical systems.
• Ability to work 14‑day on/14‑day off schedules in remote locations.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
