Field Service Engineer – Alberta, Saskatchewan & Manitoba

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support customers across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, testing and maintaining advanced eye‑care equipment while ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, upgrades and installations of medical devices.
• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and promptly resolve quality or safety issues.
• Manage daily schedules and communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, managers and cross‑functional teams.
• Complete all required administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Assist sales, clinical and internal teams, including on‑site service representatives.
• Manage inventory, track parts, and return unused or defective items.
• Promote and sell maintenance contracts and support the sales team in contract negotiations.

Required profile

• Associate degree in electronics or equivalent education/experience.
• Strong background in electronics, electricity and mechanics.
• Willingness to work a variable schedule and travel overnight up to 50% of the time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and hold a clean driver’s license for the past three years.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven customer‑service experience and ability to work independently.
• Residency in Alberta (preferred) or Manitoba.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
• Experience using ServiceMax or Salesforce.
• Hands‑on experience with advanced medical devices and medical lasers.
• Knowledge of connecting medical devices to hospital networks.
