Field Operator – Biosolids Transfer

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Field Operator to join our land‑application team during the biosolids season (April – November). The role involves safely transferring biosolids from tanker trailers to application equipment and supporting sustainable agricultural practices across Ontario.

Key responsibilities

• Operate pumps to move biosolids from tanker trailers to land‑application equipment.
• Monitor and control the flow of biosolids to ensure efficient and safe transfer.
• Communicate regularly with supervisors, drivers, and management regarding application progress, equipment status, and any issues.
• Perform routine maintenance on pumps, hoses, and spreading mechanisms.
• Inspect equipment daily and address problems promptly to avoid breakdowns during operations.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in the agriculture sector (preferred).
• Experience with tractors or other heavy equipment is an asset.
• Valid G or G2 driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Safety certifications such as Working at Heights or CPR are advantageous.
• Ability to work flexible, long‑hour days (12 + hours) and travel out of town when required.

Required skills

• Pump operation.

• IT data management (recording and reporting across software platforms).
• Valid G or G2 driver’s licence.
