Family Doctor – Primary Care Physician

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Family Doctor to join our urban private practice clinic. The role involves delivering comprehensive primary care to individuals and families, promoting health, preventing disease, and managing acute and chronic conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Collect medical histories from patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Examine patients to diagnose diseases, injuries, and health concerns.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans tailored to each patient.
• Report births, deaths, and communicable diseases to public health authorities.
• Coordinate primary patient care and provide acute care management.
• Offer counseling and support on health, lifestyle, and wellness topics.
• Collaborate with other medical practitioners to assess physical and mental health.

Required profile

• Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry.
• Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
• College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP) or equivalent.
• Experience in primary care is an asset.
