Experienced Fire Alarm Technician

About the role

Everguard Fire Safety is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join its national team. You will work on commercial, industrial, institutional and multi‑residential sites across Saskatchewan, performing installations, inspections, maintenance and troubleshooting of fire alarm and life‑safety systems.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and test fire alarm systems in accordance with the Saskatchewan Fire Code.
• Diagnose and repair faults in panels, devices and circuits.
• Install, program, repair and commission fire alarm components.
• Document deficiencies and complete digital reports.
• Read and interpret schematics and specifications.
• Support and mentor junior technicians.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation with premium pay.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of fire alarm service or inspection experience.
• Electronics or Fire Protection Technology education (asset).
• CFAA certification or provincial fire alarm permits (preferred).
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Willingness to work overtime and travel to remote sites.

Required skills

• Fire alarm installation, inspection and maintenance.
• Troubleshooting fire alarm systems and reading schematics.
• Use of calibrated meters and digital reporting tools.
• Manufacturer‑approved training (e.g., Siemens, Autocall, Simplex, Edwards, Notifier).
• CFAA certification or equivalent provincial permits.
