Executive Vice President, Business Development

About the role

The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC), the Government of Alberta's Crown commercial enterprise that regulates gaming, liquor and recreational cannabis, is hiring an Executive Vice President, Business Development. Reporting directly to the CEO, the EVP leads a portfolio generating more than $2 billion in annual revenue and supporting over 400 employees. The role is hybrid and based in Edmonton.

• Balance strategic growth, stakeholder engagement, operational excellence and public accountability
• Identify new opportunities to enhance customer experience
• Influence industry direction and drive business transformation
• Support major initiatives in gaming modernization, lottery performance, liquor pricing reform and the future of cannabis distribution

Required profile

• A commercially minded and politically astute executive combining strategic vision with the ability to lead a complex, customer-facing business at scale
• Track record of leading large, complex organizations through growth, transformation and operational improvement
• Judgment and credibility in a highly regulated environment
• Engaging, collaborative leader who builds high-performing teams, fosters accountability and influences government officials, industry partners, customers and employees
