About the role

The Executive Director leads a high‑performing team to ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and high‑quality care. Reporting to senior leadership, this role is responsible for strategic planning, operational management, and regulatory compliance of a long‑term care home.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all operations, expenditures, and funding streams while meeting jurisdictional and corporate requirements.
• Provide financial stewardship, ensuring the home operates within budget and drives fiscal accountability.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary, regional, and support teams to promote resident health and staff well‑being.
• Ensure compliance with provincial and federal Acts, regulations, collective agreements, and internal policies.
• Support managers, front‑line staff, residents, and families through hands‑on leadership and capacity building.
• Cultivate a culture that respects resident rights, encourages high performance, and delivers quality care.
• Develop talent through education, succession planning, and employee experience initiatives.
• Lead quality‑improvement programs and develop home‑level strategies in consultation with the leadership team.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in long‑term or senior‑care settings.
• Strong advocacy for resident safety and quality of care.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high‑performing, engaged teams.
• Solid financial management and budgeting expertise.
• In‑depth knowledge of provincial/federal health‑care regulations and standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
