Equipment Person (Casual)

About the role

The Equipment Person provides essential support to the Athletics and Recreation unit at McGill University’s Currie Gymnasium. Working 15 hours per week on a casual basis, you will ensure the sports complex runs smoothly by delivering friendly customer service, handling equipment rentals, and maintaining a clean, well‑organized environment.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and assist clients, answering questions and providing information about facilities and services.
• Set up and dismantle equipment and activity areas for sports events and programs.
• Manage equipment rentals, checking items in and out, and instructing users on proper use.
• Perform laundry duties, including washing, folding, and sorting uniforms, towels, and other items.
• Carry out light maintenance tasks and support other operational needs as directed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant experience in a customer‑facing or equipment‑handling role.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lb safely.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
