Epic Orders and Clin Doc Application Specialist

About the role

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is seeking an Epic Orders and Clin Doc Application Specialist to support its Epic Health Information System. The role combines clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and stakeholder collaboration to configure, test, and optimise Epic applications for paediatric care.

Key responsibilities

• Attend site visits and validation sessions to analyse operational needs and inform Epic workflow decisions.
• Perform in‑depth workflow analysis, define requirements, configure the system, and document solutions.
• Develop, execute, and maintain test scripts to ensure configurations meet clinical requirements.
• Lead or contribute to small‑ and mid‑sized projects, including planning, tracking, and reporting.
• Present analyses and recommendations to governance committees and participate in roadmap planning.
• Create implementation and change‑management plans for new features and releases.
• Serve as liaison between clinical users, Epic teams, and third‑party vendors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting end‑users and workflows.

Required profile

• Epic certification or proven proficiency in Orders, Clin Doc, ASAP, or related Epic modules.
• Post‑secondary degree or diploma in IT, health informatics, or a related health field.
• Minimum of three years of experience working with healthcare information systems.
