Entry-Level Compliance Analyst – Toronto

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated, detail‑oriented entry‑level Compliance Analyst to support our Chief Compliance Officer in Toronto. The role is ideal for a recent graduate with internship experience in an investment bank, fintech, or other financial‑services organization and offers exposure to regulatory monitoring, policy review, and anti‑money‑laundering processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day compliance operations, including regulatory, advisory, monitoring and surveillance activities.
• Review policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Assist with transaction, communications and trade surveillance, as well as other risk‑based monitoring activities.
• Prepare internal compliance reports, management updates, regulatory filings and audit/examination materials.
• Monitor regulatory developments and evaluate their impact on the business.
• Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Operations, Technology, Finance and front‑office teams on compliance initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of compliance reviews, approvals, exceptions, escalations and remediation efforts.
• Support compliance testing, risk assessments, control reviews and internal investigations as needed.
• Help prepare training materials, track completion and identify employee education needs.
• Contribute to process‑improvement, automation and compliance‑technology enhancement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Political Science, Law, Accounting, Computer Science, Data Analytics or a related field.
• Prior internship experience at an investment bank, fintech company, broker‑dealer, asset manager, payments firm, consulting firm, regulator or other financial‑services institution.
• Strong interest in financial markets, fintech, regulatory compliance, risk management and corporate governance.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion and to work independently while collaborating across teams.
