Employment & Litigation Lawyer

About the role

We are seeking an Employment & Litigation Lawyer to join our in‑house legal team. This role offers hands‑on courtroom advocacy without billable‑hour targets, allowing you to manage cases from start to finish while working closely with senior business leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage employment and litigation files from pleadings through resolution.
• Represent the organization before courts, tribunals, and administrative bodies.
• Draft pleadings, affidavits, briefs, applications, and settlement materials.
• Participate in mediations, negotiations, and other dispute‑resolution processes.
• Provide practical legal advice to business leaders and support policy development.
• Help resolve workplace issues proactively before they become disputes.

Required profile

• Active membership in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
• 1‑4 years of litigation experience; employment law experience is a strong asset.
• Experience appearing before courts, tribunals, or administrative bodies.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation, and legal drafting abilities.
• Ability to independently manage files and competing priorities.
• Sound judgment and a practical, business‑oriented approach.
• Desire to take ownership, make decisions, and drive matters to resolution.
