About the role

Join a dynamic Emergency Department at Kelowna General Hospital, a tertiary referral centre serving over 100,000 annual ED visits. The department is a Level 2 Trauma Centre, a cardiac critical‑care hub, and a designated stroke referral centre, offering a wide spectrum of acute cases from trauma to complex medical emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to a diverse patient population.
• Manage trauma resuscitations, cardiac emergencies, and stroke presentations.
• Collaborate directly with consultants and specialists across the hospital.
• Participate in bedside teaching, simulation sessions, Grand Rounds, and journal clubs.
• Contribute to the academic environment of the FRCPC Emergency Medicine residency program.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine (FRCPC or equivalent).
• Experience in a high‑volume, tertiary emergency department.
• Strong commitment to teamwork, mentorship, and continuous learning.
• Interest in academic activities and teaching medical trainees.

Required skills

• Clinical expertise in emergency medicine, trauma, and cardiac critical care.
• Ability to perform emergency procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and ultrasound‑guided interventions.
• Proficiency in managing complex medical presentations and coordinating multidisciplinary care.
