About the role

Kelowna General Hospital is seeking an Emergency Medicine physician to join its high‑volume Emergency Department, which handles over 100,000 visits annually and provides advanced cardiac and trauma services. The position is based in Kelowna, British Columbia, offering a dynamic mix of acute care, teaching, and collegial teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive emergency care to a diverse patient population, including trauma, cardiac, and stroke cases.
• Participate in high‑acuity resuscitations and coordinate with consultants across specialties.
• Contribute to the academic environment through bedside teaching, simulation sessions, Grand Rounds, and journal clubs.
• Mentor junior physicians and support a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
• Engage with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient flow and quality outcomes.

Required profile

• Physician with experience in a busy emergency department setting.
• Strong commitment to teamwork, mentorship, and academic involvement.
• Willingness to integrate into a close‑knit, collegial department.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and trauma resuscitation.
• Experience with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
• Familiarity with coronary revascularization procedures.
• Knowledge of endovascular thrombectomy techniques.
