Emergency Medicine Physician – Kelowna General Hospital

About the role

Kelowna General Hospital is seeking an Emergency Medicine physician to join its busy tertiary referral Emergency Department, which handles over 100,000 visits each year. The position offers exposure to a broad range of cases, from trauma to complex cardiac and medical emergencies, in a vibrant four‑season community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute assessment, stabilization and treatment for patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Manage trauma, cardiac critical care and stroke cases in a Level 2 Trauma Centre and designated stroke referral centre.
• Collaborate directly with consultants and specialists, often on a first‑name basis, to ensure seamless patient care.
• Participate in bedside teaching, simulation sessions and academic activities within the department’s residency programs.
• Contribute to a collegial, supportive culture both inside and outside the workplace.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine.
• Experience working in a high‑volume emergency department.
• Commitment to teamwork, mentorship and continuous learning.
• Interest in academic medicine and teaching opportunities.
